Before we begin we must understand the difference between the crystal and gemstones. For some this is simple logic and while others this is a bit confusing. Which is fully understandable, because a gem can be a crystal yet the crystal is never the Gem. Crystals are pure substances that have molecules arranged in a regular geometric pattern. Crystals are solids broken down into atoms, ions, and molecules which allowing the solid to be three dimensional. Now a Gem also goes by Gemstone is a mineral stone that is used in making jewelry. These mineral-based gems can be from a ruby, diamond, or an organic base such as amber.

Regardless of the type of magick, you practice stones and crystals are magical batteries that hold information. When we think of crystals we think of their healing properties. However, crystals have the ability to direct and manipulate energy which is a useful tool for the black witch. They can also be used in working with spirits and demons as crystals help heighten the psychic mind. In some black magick rituals, the spherical crystals of a darker color can be used as a black mirror. Which act as gate/portal to the other dimensions or spiritual planes. This helps with communication and is divination technique. This divination tool can be used in invocation or evocation but I would think you would have better luck with evocation with this technique.

Jet: this crystal or gem has an unmistakable deep, dark black that renders the thoughts of darkness and cruelty.

Black Onyx: The black stone has a slightly different color than the jet and tends to have lighter specks in it. The stone can be used more for the gradual negative effects or as an icon of, metaphorically, consuming the target.

Carnelian: The bright orange and red of this gem can be used to inflict physical pain or injuries, as well as bring overbearing heat or sweat.

Smoky Quartz: With the look of pollution, cigarettes, and overall inkiness, this stone may be used for inflicting illness, nausea, or attracting smoke towards your target.

Tourmaline Quartz: This brutal, yet beautiful, stone captured “spikes”’ within it. With many ways to interpret these spikes, some examples would be confusion and pain.
